The Experience

An effortless journey through Kent's viticulture.

Kent is producing some of the most exciting wines in the world right now. Not just in England – in the world. We have relationships with small, exclusive vineyards that are off the beaten track. We invite you to sit back, relax, and immerse yourself in the beauty of the Garden of England.

Where it Begins

Alex and Alastair will be waiting for you at Ashford International train station. You will be given a brief introduction to your day; this is an opportunity to meet fellow guests and get to know your hosts. You will then board a comfortable vehicle, sized for your group, and head off into the beautiful Kent countryside.

The vineyards

You’ll visit two of Kent’s most exciting vineyards, each with its own character, philosophy, and approach to winemaking. At each stop, you’ll enjoy a guided tasting of at least three exceptional wines. Weather permitting, you’ll wander through the vines, hear how the wines are made, and get a real sense of the passion, experimentation, and craftsmanship driving English wine forward. To accompany the tasting, we’ll provide a carefully curated selection of locally sourced cheese or charcuterie, with a vegan option always available. These aren’t scripted, corporate experiences. They’re personal, relaxed, and full of the kind of stories and enthusiasm that make the whole day feel memorable.

Tailored to Your Schedule

We offer three distinct departure times to suit your preference.

The 11 am & 1 pm Tours Perfect for those looking to settle into the countryside with a relaxed lunch, brilliant wine, and an unhurried afternoon among the vines.

The 3 pm Tour Golden hour in the vineyard makes for the best photos, with a light supper and home at a civilised hour.

The Perfect Finish

About us

We’re Alex and Alastair; a husband-and-wife team who came to Kent a decade ago and fell in love with what we found on our doorstep. Talented winemakers were quietly producing bottles that could stand beside some of the best in the world – often without the attention they deserve.

With over 25 years of combined experience in emergency nursing, caring for people has always been at the centre of what we do. White Horse Wine Tours grew from a desire to bring that same warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail into something we genuinely love. For us, this isn’t about polished wine jargon or intimidating tastings. It’s about introducing people to passionate makers, incredible places, and wines that create genuine excitement from the very first sip. We pride ourselves on championing independent, family-run vineyards that mirror our own values of quality and community.

Reviews

Everything! The fun started in the car ride to the first vineyard and it was a seamless transition to the vineyard owner. The food was fantastic, I was probably expecting something more “rustic” but it looked really well laid out, it was lovely food and there was plenty of it. The owner gave us lots of information and chatted away but then left us to taste the wines as well so there was a good balance there. Similarly at the second vineyard there was a good balance between talking about the wines and their business and letting us chat about ourselves. And of course all the wine was excellent!

My partner, mother in law and I love visiting vineyards in and around Kent. However, one of us always has to drive which means they miss out on drinking Kent’s finest. Thanks to Alastair and Alex, that’s no longer an issue. We were picked up by Alastair from Ashford International and driven to Warehorne where we were given a vineyard tour plus 4 wines to taste. Alastair then gave us a really interesting talk on the history of winemaking in England. After that, he drove us to Wayfarer where we had charcuterie, cheese and tasted 7 wines!

What a great day! Exploring vineyards and drinking delicious wine. The day flowed nicely as we were collected and dropped off at each location seamlessly and it meant we could enjoy the wine without worrying about driving. I would highly recommend.

A small group of us did the tour and we had the BEST day. Never would have found such amazing family run vineyards without the this tour. The tour guides were so warm and knowledgeable, really relaxing way to see the beautiful countryside. The wines were all amazing, especially the Rosè at Wayfairer. Room for a little dog as well.

Hidden vineyards I never knew existed, warm and genuine hospitality, and food and wine that honestly rival France. Our driver Aly was incredibly knowledgeable about the area and a real highlight of the day. We rounded things off with a great hour at Ashford Designer Outlet before heading back — the perfect ending to a brilliant trip. Already planning my next one!

We were blessed with perfect weather for it, but the combination of startlingly good wines, a terrific cheeseboard sourced from local cheesemakers - and a very warm welcome from Karen and her team - made for a delightful visit to a vineyard it would be virtually impossible to reach by public transport.
